So if you’re a serious car customiser in the US, you can actually send in photos of your creation and Mattel will consider your car for a Hot Wheels model ! Each year, Mattel takes the top full sized cars and their Hot Wheels models on the road around the USA at various venues on the ‘Legends Tour’. Then the annual winner is announced !
We found out this recently when we bought a Hot Wheels Austin Nash Metropolitan called ‘The Nash’ and it mentioned the ‘Legends Tour’ on the back. So we looked into it ! But first, here’s the model ! And guess what, it won First Prize for the 2019 competition !

The original ’57 Nash only had 40 horsepower—a far cry from this Nash’s mighty 300. The Nash beat out nearly 5,000 other custom cars that competed across 20 stops in the 2019 Hot Wheels Legends Tour.
