Lovely Austin A40 Farina Seen While Out Walking Today

The Austin A40 Farina has always been one of our all time favourites. For us, it just captures that early 1960’s with it’s looks and the lovely sound of the Austin A Series engine on deceleration that makes it instant recognisable.

It was a lovely day, and getting a rare day off work decided to walk to the local shops rather than take the car. And on the way back, I had like many other classic car enthusiasts have, the strange ability to spot a classic car at 100 yards.

There parked up was this lovely Austin A40 Farina. The sun was on the windscreen, so I decided to chance a cheeky photo. However as i drew alongside, I could see the owners were sitting in the front seats watching !

But Mair & Jane were lovely people and quite ok with me taking a photograph. We had a nice chat and very soon agreed that we loved the shapes and styles of classic cars over the modern computer designed all look the same modern cars. They’d had their A40 about a year and really enjoyed driving it on a daily basis.

I then walked on and was given friendly toot as they passed me by and I was rewarded with the sound of the A Series engine as they pulled away from a junction.
