The Thunderbird Mk1 was launched by Ford in 1955 in response to Chevrolet’s Corvette.

It was a huge success for Ford, as in it’s first year it outsold the Corvettes by 23 to 1.

It had a 5.1 Litre V8 engine, or 312 cu inches.

It only lasted 3 years until the Mk2 was introduced in 1958
