The Mk 2 Consul arrived in 1956 and looked so modern compared to the earlier Mk1.
It was the baby of the Mk2 family, with a four cylinder engine, while it’s big brothers, the Zephyr & Zodiac had six cylinders.
It has a 1700cc engine which developed a whopping 59bhp, which today seems so low !
But they were popular with over 370,000 being made in their 6 years of production.
