Launched in 1982, the BX was very successful.

Then in 1987 they took the 1.9 litre 16 valve engine based on the Peugeot 205 GTi engine and added it to the BX.

It had over 158bhp and it snorted from 0-60mph in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 135mph.
