Aston Martin DBS

MVU 773 G

Year: 1969
Make: Aston Martin
Model: DBS

Event: Streetscene

Designed by Sir William Towns who took up the mantle from Touring after Aston Martin management weren’t happy with their design.

It was a more modern shape to the previous DB4/5/6 design, although we understand at first the purists weren’t too sure.

They originally wanted to fit a V8 engine, but kind of made do with a straight six engine, but having said that it still generated 280bhp.

This came later when the DBS V8 was introduced in 1969 and was built concurrently to the straight six.
